Maximize Your Earnings in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II: A Comprehensive Guide

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Groschen is your primary currency, and many players may be looking for effective strategies to accumulate wealth quickly. This guide aims to provide you with essential tips on how to make money efficiently in the game.

The best time to initiate your money-making ventures is at night, when NPCs are asleep. You can sneak into their houses to steal valuable items while minimizing the chances of getting caught. Look for room keys and unlock wardrobes; the most lucrative items can often be found in nightstands and chests. Occasionally, you may even find Groschen directly hidden within these storage units.

During certain main quests, players will encounter armored soldiers. Looting their corpses for armor pieces can yield significant profits, especially with lightweight gloves that don't occupy much inventory space. If your inventory is full, consider storing extra items in your horse's saddlebag.

Stealing from shops during the night is another viable method to earn Groschen. However, the locks can be challenging to pick. To increase your thieving skills, practice various techniques like lock-picking and stealing. In shops without guards, you can distract the shopkeeper by throwing stones (crouch and press R1/RB), allowing you to swiftly grab items while they’re diverted. Always try to stash stolen goods in private storage containers before getting caught, as this prevents guards from confiscating your items. If you're apprehended, you can take a punishment to avoid fines, but it will affect your character's health temporarily; a good night's rest should help.

Stolen items will display a red hand icon, and regular merchants will refuse to buy these goods. Here are two effective ways to dispose of stolen property:

  • Store the stolen items in a private storage box located near any bed you have rented (or at a story-driven bed). After a couple of weeks in the game, the red hand symbol will disappear, allowing you to sell the items freely. This process takes about 1-2 weeks, but specific skills in the thieving skill tree can reduce this time by 25%. Use sleep to skip time quickly, and once ready, consume food to restore health until the red icon is gone.
  • Sell the stolen goods to the fence found east of Troskovits, known as “Whitebeard.” He typically has about 200 Groschen to spare for stolen goods. However, he can only handle a limited amount at a time, and his funds refresh after a certain period.

Another option is to enhance your eloquence to level 20 to unlock the skill “Accomplice,” allowing you to sell any stolen goods to any merchant without fear of getting caught. Achieving level 20 requires significant time investment, but it effectively acts like a money cheat, as you can continue selling until the merchant's funds are depleted, then simply sleep until they refresh.

Note that merchants will offer different prices based on your reputation within the town. Actions such as killing or stealing can negatively impact your standing, so be cautious when doing anything illegal in a selling town.

If gambling is more to your liking, many taverns offer dice games. You can earn significant money by betting high amounts and winning. Always manually save your game beforehand and load if you lose.

The best dice to use are Heaven Dice and Lucky Dice, which can be acquired by stealing or from loot. Look for dice players in taverns, as they often have gold dice on hand. Stealing can get you pursued by guards, but moving to another town will break the chase. Store your stolen dice in your personal warehouse, and upon returning to the gambling scene, take your punishment while retaining the dice for future betting.

Completing specific quests can also reward you with hundreds of Groschen; tasks that involve bribing and looting defeated foes can even yield over 1000 Groschen. One of the most lucrative quests early on is the miller's side quest, available shortly after unlocking the open world. It includes a series of battles and allows you to bet money for increased rewards, providing around 375 Groschen in just a few minutes.
