In Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, there is a side quest involving a cabbage thief who has stolen cabbage. Depending on the choices made, you may have a chance to obtain an unlimited healing food item, sauerkraut. How to Acquire the Cabbage Thief Quest
The cabbage thief quest is a free quest that you can obtain by speaking to the bailiff in Trosky Vits. Choose the option “What news do you have?”, and the bailiff will inform you that the nearby farmers’ cabbages have been stolen. This is where the quest details will be provided, but it will not show any markings in your journal; instead, it will mark the location of a grocery store on the map, located just south of Trosky Vits. Note that even if you do not accept this quest, you can head directly to the location of the cabbage thief to complete the final step, skipping the earlier acquisition and searching processes.
Guide to the Cabbage Thief Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
Head to the marked grocery store on the map. If it's daytime, you'll find a farmer walking or working in the fields. Speak to him and inquire about the stolen cabbages to learn the location of the cabbage field. Investigate the cabbage field.
The stolen cabbage field is located to the northeast of the farmhouse. Examine the disturbed ground and the fallen cabbages. These fallen cabbages create a path for you to follow.
Find the Cabbage Thief
Follow the Trail of Cabbages
Head southeast along the trail of cabbages until you reach a nearby path where you will discover more cabbages. Continue tracking the fallen cabbages, and at the end of the path, you will encounter the cabbage thief. However, be aware that the distance between the fallen cabbages will increase, making it harder to follow. The tracking path is long and may require several hours of movement, or you may need to rest until dawn before continuing. The general direction is as follows: walk south along the cabbage path from the cabbage field, then head southwest, followed by westward, ultimately reaching the south side of the farm.
Exploring the Cabbage Thief Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
Follow the path southwest through the forest, continuing west at the fork. As you walk along the road, you'll notice some fallen cabbages along the way. Eventually, you will see a bridge to the south leading to the Inbach Fortress. Keep heading west from here, but pay attention to a hidden path on your left (to the south). If you look closely, you can spot fallen cabbages in the tall grass. Follow this concealed path, crossing two shallow streams. There is another cabbage on the opposite side of the second stream, confirming that you are on the right track.
Follow the Path to Your Quest Goal
Continue along this small path heading south until the rugged dirt road turns into a clearly worn grass-covered path. Keep walking along this road until you see another rocky creek. Here, you can also spot a cabbage. This indicates that you're close to your quest objective. Follow the creek south-southeast until you reach a small bridge made of three logs. Crossing the bridge will lead you to a cart filled with cabbages. Continue east-northeast towards the white cliffs, and you will find the cabbage thief, Saurkraut Peppa.
Diverging Options - Report or Spare the Cabbage Thief
Upon finding the cabbage thief, Saurkraut Peppa, and engaging in a dialogue, you'll discover that he stole the cabbages to pickle them. At this point, you have three different options to choose from:

How to Handle the Cabbage Thief in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
No matter what option you pick here, you can later report him to the bailiff (or keep your promise).
If you choose to kill the Cabbage Thief, Peppa, the combat difficulty is not high. Although he will resist, his strength is limited. After killing him, you can loot the body, but he does not carry anything of value. When you return to Troskovice to report to the bailiff, there is not even an option to say you have eliminated the Cabbage Thief. However, you can still receive a reward, although the bailiff will mention that he will continue to investigate the Cabbage Thief.
If you choose to report him to the bailiff, Peppa will not react strongly; he will accept his fate without attempting to stop your report. After reporting, you will receive a monetary reward (around 780 Groschen).
Choosing Not to Report Peppa
If you choose not to report him, you can continuously provide Peppa with cabbages, allowing him to supply an unlimited amount of sauerkraut. However, if the freshness of the cabbage drops below 50, Peppa will refuse to accept it. The Sauerkraut from Peppa can provide +2 nutrition and +10 health, it does not spoil, and has no weight. The selling price is low, making it a mediocre choice for healing potions, but its non-spoilage and weightless nature makes it very useful in the early game.
By the way, cabbages can be purchased from shops in various locations, or you could also steal cabbages from Peppa and return them to him.
If your goal is purely to earn money, it is recommended to choose Report Peppa for Sauerkraut, as this will yield a significant amount of Groschen, which is more profitable than selling Peppa's sauerkraut. However, if you want to use it as food or healing, you can opt for Let Peppa Go.
