Unraveling the Grievances in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
The "Grievances" quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a complex side mission that demands players to diligently follow clues across the map. This guide aims to assist players in navigating through the intricate steps involved in this quest, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience.
To start this quest, head west from Zelenyi. Reach the herbalist Božena's home, where you’ll learn that her daughter, Pavlína, has gone missing. Upon engaging in a conversation with Božena, make sure to look for the option to offer her some money. It’s essential to come back with 150 coins later as a token of gratitude for her earlier aid once you acquire enough funds.
Božena's house offers a free bed for resting, but be cautious—avoid sleeping in the wrong bed. Ensure that you use the bed from when you were injured before, right at the entrance. Sleeping in another bed might lead you to be thrown out, irrespective of your bond with the owner.
Head upstairs to Pavlína’s room and conduct a thorough investigation: look for a man’s hat on the stool and examine the unfinished basket, bed, and clothes beside the bed for clues. After you’ve gathered the necessary evidence, return to Božena for an update before using fast travel to head back to Troskovice.
Upon arrival at the town hall, you will meet the governor's daughter, Agnes, who is set to marry into the Semi family. She will direct you to the governor, who can often be found wandering the town or chatting with the scribe inside the town hall. These two NPCs hold valuable information that can aid in your quest.
As you continue east towards the butcher's shop, you will see Dušek calling out for the woodsman, Roman, outside his home. If Roman isn't around, you might catch Dušek’s wife, who will suggest that you go ask Dušek where her husband is. After persuading Dušek, you will discover that Pavlína is pregnant with Roman's child.
Unfortunately, Roman’s house is locked, so you’ll need to climb up a ladder on the side of his home to gain entry. Within, look at the bowl on the table and discover Pavlína’s basket. Since Roman is absent, feel free to rest or grab something to eat from the pot.
Next, return to Dušek’s home, now armed with the knowledge that Pavlína and Roman had a secret meeting spot located in the woods south of the town. Investigate the scene of the crime, where you will find bloodied rocks and pieces of clothing leading you deeper into the forest.
In the woods, you might encounter wild boars alongside Roman’s body. Speak with the nearby pigherd, Hugo, for clues. Progress to the landlord Jack's farm and converse with his workers. These individuals can be quite stubborn; a gentle approach might not work, but a firm tone will yield better results.
You have choices on how to handle the situation, but finding Pavlína must remain your priority. Afterward, navigate to the southern woods, where you should bypass any aggressive dogs and climb up a ladder to negotiate with Ota. Introduce yourself, stress that you’ve not harmed anyone, and inform him of Pavlína’s pregnancy to persuade him without violence.
Once you rescue Pavlína, return with her to Božena's home. Božena may request that you eliminate landlord Jack, but you have the option to mediate between them for a peaceful resolution.
Back in Troskovice, find the landlord at the horse farm. Engage in casual conversation first before mentioning the kidnapping incident. Use Pavlína’s condition to argue for a peaceful resolution, successfully convincing him.
Finally, return to Božena with the good news. She rewards you part of the money, and keep in mind that both Božena and Pavlína are skilled mentors who can teach you various skills for a fee—though they can be quite pricey.
Despite Božena being the herbalist, you'll need to consult Pavlína when purchasing items, as she operates the herbalist shop.
