Optimizing Graphics Settings in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II for Enhanced Performance and Visuals
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, certain graphical settings can significantly impact the game's performance. So, how can players find a balance between visuals and frame rate? Below are some graphic settings suggestions brought to you by "破虏," which we hope will assist you in optimizing your gameplay experience. My setup consists of an AMD 7800X3D, a 7900XTX, and 32GB RAM at 6000Hz, running at 2K resolution.
It is recommended to utilize FSR combined with native anti-aliasing. Lowering the graphics quality should not mean disabling FSR or using quality settings that are above FSR's. The first image illustrates the performance with FSR and native anti-aliasing, showcasing impressive detail in the leaves. In contrast, the second image, with FSR turned off, displays leaves that have lost significant detail and look blurred.

In the third image, FSR is set to the quality preset, where some leaf details are still missing and appear somewhat blurred, although it is an improvement over the second image. Even after being compressed by Baidu, it's evident that images visibly lose clarity and detail.
Additionally, the motion blur with FSR and native anti-aliasing is minimal. However, performance with FSR disabled and anti-aliasing turned off results in very blurry visuals, marking it as completely unusable; so it's best to avoid this setting.
When using FSR with native anti-aliasing, the frame rates reach exceptional highs: 90 (Ultra), 98 (High), 102 (Medium), and 121 (Low). The lower settings significantly reduce visual fidelity, so aiming for Medium or High is advisable. The difference between very high and high shadow quality settings is minimal, with only a 3 to 6 frame difference. It is suggested to opt for very high shadow quality. The frame rate drop between high and very high settings is about 10 frames, clearly affecting distant objects.
In terms of particle effects, lighting, post-processing, volumetric clouds, and vegetation, the difference in frame rates between very high and high settings is insignificant, as they are not very demanding on performance.
However, the key points are the object quality, global illumination, and shadow settings. Lowering these from very high to high can yield a frame rate increase of nearly 30 frames, while shifting from FSR native anti-aliasing to the quality setting may only provide around 20 frames of improvement, albeit at the cost of visual fidelity and detail loss. Therefore, prioritizing the reduction of quality levels on these three critical elements, if necessary, is preferable over utilizing FSR or DLSS at quality settings or above, as they lead to muddied visuals and detail loss. Again, prioritize your settings wisely!
