The Strength of Bow in Monster Hunter Wilds

The bow in Monster Hunter Wilds is very powerful, and its agile movements allow players to effectively dodge monster attacks. Below, you will find bow build recommendations for the late game provided by "lin19900126", which we hope will be useful for everyone.

Armor Set Recommendations

I am currently at HR70 and I am still using this versatile armor set to tackle various high-difficulty monsters.

Armor

Fire Dragon β Set.

Fire Dragon β Set

This armor set provides great skills without requiring any decorations, offering critical hit 4, stamina surge 3, and evasion 3 (set skills: Fire Dragon Power, and Artisan of Stacked Scales).

Fire Dragon β Set Decorations

The Fire Dragon β five-piece set has a total of 11 decoration slots for customization. It is recommended to prioritize filling in Stamina Surge 5 (Stamina Gem) and Stamina Recovery 3 (Early Gas Gem). Additionally, include one Evasion Distance 1 (Jumping Gem).

Weapons

I personally recommend using a bow with piercing shots, along with the built-in enhancements or decorations. Aim to elevate your concentration skill to 2 or 3. The concentration skill allows your energy gauge to charge rapidly.

Summary

Essential skills to have during the transition period include: Evade Extender 5, Stamina Surge 3, and Concentration 2 or 3. The critical hits and evade performance come with the set. With the evade performance in Monster Hunter Wilds, successfully achieving a guard point (GP) rewards players with stamina recovery and increased energy gauge. The judgment for evading becomes quite lenient; I often find myself amused while playing. Sometimes, I blindly execute maneuvers, and not only do I receive GP rewards but I also drink less stamina potions, indirectly boosting my DPS.

As for critical hits, it’s a small damage increase for dodging attacks; consider it a bonus. I can confidently say that during the mid to late game, I highly recommend the full Fire Dragon β set as it is relatively easy to acquire. Once you’ve completed the lower rank monsters, you can venture out to the map to seek out Fire Dragons and gather their materials. Now, one might wonder about the early game, what to do?

Getting Started

I can only irresponsibly tell you to wear whatever you want. When your stamina runs out, just go for focused shots or Dragon Arrows. You'll get through the early game quickly anyway. I'm really just wearing the initial gear, focusing on ecology. By the time I finished the game, I switched to the "lower tier" gear of the Apex Thunder Dragon, trying to maximize my stamina through decorations or talismans.

Weapon Recommendations

I mentioned earlier that I personally prefer piercing shots, so I always choose bows that support piercing. Guided Arrows combined with Charge Shots are also very powerful, but they consume a lot of energy, so it's really a matter of personal choice. After all, I don't have issues with aiming—if you're a hunter who struggles to hit targets, you can also use Guided Arrows without decorations or opt for bows with Charge Shots.

I tested it out, and the damage is actually quite similar, with no significant difference. Maybe my gear isn't strong enough yet.

Hunting Gameplay Tips

Basically, I usually utilize the "Step & Shoot" method (step + shoot + strong shot). When faced with monsters that have high defense, I will use the "Double Step & Shoot" method (step + shoot + strong shot + strong rapid shot). When monsters are down or not focusing on me, I execute the above strategies for maximum damage output.

Dealing with Stamina Issues?

If you're struggling with stamina, worry not! After just one quick shot with the Dragon Arrow, you'll find this new Dragon Arrow is exceptionally powerful, with penetration levels that are truly impressive. This video aims to assist hunters who enjoy using bows. Feel free to share this video with fellow hunters who are interested in trying out the bow. The bow's performance in this iteration is remarkable, and it's easier to handle than before. Not to mention, the Fire Dragon β set provides outstanding evasion capabilities.
