Farming in Monster Hunter Wilds
The farm in Monster Hunter Wilds provides players with a stable source of materials. Below is an overview of the material collection quests shared by “ra89517r”. Let's take a look!
Monster Hunter Wilds Resources
The Monster Hunter Wilds resource guide features comprehensive information on equipment, materials, and monsters, along with an automatic equipment set function to help you navigate through the game effortlessly!
Farming Mechanics
Once you reach the upper rank, you will have the cat stationed next to the main camp tent on the map, similar to farm cats from previous installments.
You can deploy resources remotely, but you must interact with various NPCs before they appear on the list at this location.
The second option shows a UI that appears to have 4 slots, indicating there will likely be 4 or 5 quests available for delegation.
Side quests can be accepted, displaying a yellow label + XXX, indicating there might be something the NPC wants to say. The current quests are:
- Zato
- Aida
- Main Quest
- Touyuan
- Tasin
These are the current quest targets for delegation.
Understanding NPCs for Side Quests
The NPCs for accepting side quests and unlocking new quests are different. All NPCs must be interacted with locally after completing the tasks in order to handle commissions!
Welcoming Our Assistants
We need to complete the tasks and talk to the NPCs locally before we can send them on remote assignments.
Deep Sands Desert
The NPC can be found in the Wind Sound Village! This should actually be the first one, but I later realized it only after being invited and flying back.
Oil Spring Canyon (Fire Map)
After speaking with Aida from the storyline, you will be asked to hunt the Swamp Spouting monster. There is some uncertainty here because I took the liberty to tackle some other tasks, which increased my HR slightly. I'm not sure if it's based on HR or side quests opening up.
Convergence of Suga
This is part of the early main quests at a high level where there is an electrifying monster involved. Just follow the storyline and you'll be fine!
Scarlet Forest
You need to complete the third quest before this one becomes available. Please aim for the head when attacking.
Dragon City
Details about Dragon City can be found in subsequent tasks. Stay tuned for more adventures!
Frequently Asked Questions (Q&A)
What to Do if You Can't Find NPCs
The map weather forecast indicates the current weather status. If it's a sandstorm, heavy rain, or volcanic eruption, NPCs may be hard to find. You can try participating in side missions with normal weather to check for any NPCs. I'm unable to test this myself due to no available quests, so if anyone has had success, please share—your help would be appreciated!
What If I Don't See Gathering Requests?
When accepting a quest that requires you to run errands, keep in mind that the person giving you the mission is different from the tool user. After completing the mission, you need to return to submit it and speak to the tool user to enable remote dispatch.
Will I Have to Constantly Reload the Map for Gathering?
You can use the remote dispatch feature. Once you've interacted with the NPC, you can choose to dispatch after chatting with them. The dispatch point will be permanently located at the main camp in all maps.
Why Aren't Residents Gathering After I Go for a Quest? Aren't They Like Palicoes?
During special weather events, residents seek shelter, celebrate festivals, or go on strike. This often occurs when entering high rank content until HR40 quest unlocks.
Understanding Weather Variations in Monster Hunter Wilds
Players often find themselves stuck at weather transitions, which can lead to a frustrating 0/16 completion rate. If you venture out to grind for equipment instead of focusing on quests, the situation may worsen, especially if your storyline is locked in a sandstorm, preventing resource collection.
Why Are My Star Ratings Different from Yours?
Map conditions can shift between desolate, abundant, and special weather phases. Desolate phases reduce resource yield, while abundant phases offer more opportunities. In certain weather conditions, some maps may be less viable for resource gathering. While writing this guide, I did not account for these variations, leading to screenshots that may not reflect all weather scenarios. But don't worry; there will be a strength boost later on, so let's focus on the final outcomes.
