Introduction
In Monster Hunter Wilds, the Gunlance is a weapon with ultra-high defensive capabilities, equipped with a large shield. So, how should you build your Gunlance for the late game? Below is a compilation of late-game Gunlance builds curated by “is1234283.” I hope you find it useful.

Build 1
This is a commonly used set for the late game. The attributes of the weapon have not been fully explored yet. The division of skills between weapons and equipment seems somewhat limited in this version. This build achieves a 95% critical rate with all skills activated and includes defensive tier increases to enhance survivability. You might want to change the environmental adaptation skill to Research, as I prefer not to drink cold or hot items.
Build 2
Details for the second build will follow here.
My Current Armor Builds
I have equipped the Destroyer King and the Blade of Destruction. As for the Hard Wall, I have only encountered damage that I cannot block from the Fire and Poison beneath the Armored Dragon. Therefore, I won't equip it. I chose to use the Destroyer King because this time it increases the damage multiplier for concentrated attacks on wounds (the first hit deals around 400-500 damage), paired with Blade Lock Strike for faster wound infliction.
This is the result I achieved using this build against the Elder Dragon with the Blade of Destruction. The damage benefit from the Destroyer King is really high.
Third Build
No matter which version, I really enjoy using the Lance with Crit Boost and Masters Touch. With Weakness Exploit at 30%, Mind's Eye at 30%, and the weapon's inherent 35% crit rate, it totals 95%. Just a bit shy, but capitalize on hitting a wounded monster for 20% overflow damage. For those who are diligent about sharpening, Masters Touch can be replaced with Attack Boost 3.
Fourth Build
I completely disregarded the dragon element on the Lance and went for the explosive option instead.
