About Ore Deposits
The locations of ore deposits are marked on the map with a blue question mark icon. The refresh time is set at 15 minutes from the current time. You can filter icons in the bottom left corner of the map interface and click on the ore deposits while mounted to automatically navigate to them. The type of ores produced by an ore deposit depends on the area; for instance, Froststone only appears in the Icy Cliff. Each ore deposit can be harvested three times consecutively, but the ores yielded are random. Any ore deposit within the same area has a chance to produce all types of ores found in that region.
Mining Techniques in Monster Hunter Wilds
When collecting ores, it is recommended to equip the skill Geology Level 3 (which can be obtained from specific armor or by socketing gems into your armor) to increase the quantity of items gathered. Keep your mount active to allow the Senu Eagle to automatically navigate while cycling through the entire area to collect resources, and then use fast travel to reset the ore veins. There are environmental events in each area that can affect ore availability; when triggered, they show prompts for additional ore veins in the Environmental Overview.
Note that Iron Ore only appears in lower-level quests, and once you reach higher levels, you can obtain it by replaying lower-level optional quests. Similarly, some ores will only appear in higher-level quests. After accepting a quest and departing, simply returning to the quest will instantly refresh the ore veins.
