Monster Hunter Wilds Information
Monster Hunter Wilds guide includes equipment, materials, and monster information, along with an auto-gear setting feature to assist you in your quest without getting lost!
The Sword and Shield is incredibly powerful. Previously, I primarily played with bows in the World Rise, and I thought I would prepare to face many cart experiences when switching to melee. Surprisingly, I’ve only carted less than five times during the story. Normally, I do three hits with a downward thrust, and if I hit the head, it's three hits with a shield charge followed by a downward thrust. When in danger, I keep doing defensive slashes, and for repositioning, I use sliding slashes.
The downward thrust attack is significantly enhanced in the official version, resulting in the highest DPS when executing the triplet thrusts quickly. Therefore, there's no need to master JR moves, making the Sword and Shield even easier to play, although you'll find that sharpness decreases faster.
Critical Rate: Essential Elements for Success
The critical rate is influenced by various factors: weapon 25% + overcoming Frenzy Virus 25% + Mind's Eye 30% + Shard Attack Gear 30% or Power Release 20%. Basically, after the effect of Shard Attack Gear ends, Power Release will trigger perfectly. A full critical rate can be maintained for the first four to five minutes, and after that, it still remains at 80%. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to finish enhancing my second mechanical weapon. Before acquiring a good mechanical weapon, I used the Black Shard Weapon. Some have verified the combo values and found that level 1 offers the highest attribute CP value, so I added one.
The Challenger Jewel slot is flexible, with the final goal being to replace the Guard Jewel with the Mastery Jewel.
